Does Paper/Plastic Used For Housing Silica Gel Beads Gas Off?

I read that a lot of materials can gas off and cause coins to discolor over time. Materials like paper (and the ink on it), wood (and the paint on it), and plastics that contain PVC. I noticed that silica gel beads will use a type of paper or plastic as their housing. These paper and plastics will also have text on it which I assume is ink. Are silica gel packets safe for putting next to coins in storage?

Age old problem. Almost everything made by humans has the possibility to give off something over time. Main problem is how much time? Those Silica Gel packs of any kind will eventually become saturated with a liquid. Then there is the possibility of the liquid to start gassing off. Always remember any substance can only hold so much of something.

I am guessing that the moisture tablets used in pharmacy drug bottles would be safe food grade for obvious reasons, if you ask any large busy pharmacy in your town they would save them for you, in a couple days there will be massive amount.
