Can anyone recommend the best lens for coin photography with the Canon 20d & 40d.

That list starts and ends with the Canon 60mm and 100mm EF Macro lenses. Mounted on a 20d or 40d, you have no excuse not to produce results as fine as the best coin photography specialists.
