That drives some people crazy It's a cent not a penny.
As for added value I don't think so. At least not much of a premium. If it was missing a lot more sure, but as a collector I wouldn't pay more for it.

might be able to get a buck for it on ebay if you are lucky. The s got clogged with grease/debris is most likely the cause and it happens a lot more than you'd think.

I agree that it is a Grease Filled Die. I also think it is a little better then the pics coop shows. I think it would bring a small profit above face value for this cent. Nice find and worthy of a 2x2.

being bothered by whether someone calls it a penny - or cent, seems like your taking yourself a bit too seriously.

when I get a $25 box of the from my bank - it says "PENNIES" in big letters right on the box.

it seems more important to discuss the posters coin, than debate semantics.

your coin has a bit of "cool" factor. nice find..
