Maybe I've been looking at too many coins lately but I first thought this was an optical illusion...
Notice on "Liberty" how it appears that each letter gets bigger than the one before it?
Same on "IGWT" (to me)...there is a reverse die clash...
I placed arrows at things to look at...just weird...

Heavy Die Deterioration on the obverse? Maybe that's why it's like that?

Straight lines don't work on a curve as a good point-to-point reference, it will look off. Dont hav a way to draw it very well to show you. Tje LIBERTY is deterioration stretching, think a rubber band gets thinner the more force that is applied. Never thought of that till right now, interesting example!
