coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/01/2022 12:42 pm There is not extra metal on a coin. There are voids on the dies that leave chips/cracks/breaks/cuds. But no extra metal. Goes in and out with the same exact weight. (unless something is struck onto the coin) If the metal is less than normal, you will see a weaker design.
