I know this is highly unlikely, but I find myself examining this 87 p occasionally and it seems to match the EDS 1B, which has minimal E clash if any. So I thought I would bring it to the experts. Sorry pictures suck through the case.

I am not sure with the given pics what VAM it is but it is definitely not 1B and do not think there is a clashed "E" either. I know how it is with "E" clashes, you tend to make yourself see things that you want to see, been there, done that....

With any VAM you first have to match the date, yours does not, yours is much more of a near date and the 1B is closer to normal. Also, the clash you are trying to match is off, yours is lower and closer to the wreath.

I would start with near date listings and see if you can find any matches.

Thanks. I have checked most vams for this year (those are usually easily to confirm VAM I think) and struggle to find like ear and wreath markers that align except on 1b. I looked at the EDS link and that's where I came to my conclusion.

But yes I agree date is off, I did notice that.

The date has to match the listing and even if it were a different obverse die the clash does not match the reverse, they must match, exactly. Good luck and if you get some clearer full coin shots, we may be able to help. I know it's tough through plastic though.

Agreed.

I found it. I believe it is VAM 4. Dang it.
