What Are These Six Dots? 1856-S Half Dol.

The coin seems to be in good condition for an 1856, is this a possible fake? Coin weighs 12.4 grams. Any information would be helpful, as I am not a coin collector. BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 09/19/2010 7:48 pm to CCF. Your coin appears to have been holed and plugged. The weight is good but the Mint State details are not normal for a heavily cleaned/polished piece. It appears to have irregular dentils and the rims are suspect too. I'd guess it is a fake used in jewelry but someone else might have better information for you. ANA #R3154474 Report this Post to the Staff
