Earle42, your "other hobby" is insulators right? I found two today at a thrift shop!

jdbarrick - yup - if you pm me and send a pic I can help you ID them.

To keep this coin oriented - rarely there have been insulators found where the worker tossed a coin into the mold before pouring the glass. Its cool to see the imprint of an IHS or a Buffalo nickel on the top. I do not own one of these but would like to someday.

There is a modern repro-insulator maker (approved BTW - not like CHinese fakes) who encases coins inside, or makes coin impression on the dome of his old-looking insulators. I saw one of his sapphire blue glass (a beauty!) insulators with a Seated Liberty quarter impression in the dome - pretty cool looking. I am not sure the excessive heat hurts the coins either since the ones he has encased tend to be OK looking.

I've wanted some Mercury dimes for a really long time, and I got tired of roll hunting for one, so I decided to buy some. Got these three from a coin dealer. Also, the one on the bottom is a 1945.

Moe, you should post that one in the perpetual upgrade thread.

Your Seated halves are amazing, BTW.
