Hello all, pick this up yesterday and wondering if it is a O over O. Under the upper part of the O is what Iam asking about it. I looked online but can not find any information on O over O varieties for this type. Thank you for the help.

Hi! Nice coin! I've not heard of an 1855 O over O. But you definitely have something under the O on your coin.

I suspect it's a die clash since it doesn't appear to be Post Mint Damage ( PMD).

I'll let the experts weigh in now...

It doesn't seem to be an O over O, but I would agree with Moe, it seems like it might be a die clash of some sort.

Hello all, took it to Ontario Coin show , this weekend, and was told it looked like re-engraving.
