I recently found a silver dime in the reject slot of the coinstar machine at our local Walmart. Just wondering how many the machine actually kept. Was very circulated though. Not really collectable, but good find anyway.

Unfortunately my grocery store decided to get rid of their coinstar. I've only ever seen 2 people use a coinstar or a coin acceptor at the bank. The first time was a kid with a large ziploc bag that looked like it had tons of pennies, about a couple months after pennies stopped being distributed. The thought of free silver keeps me checking at every bank visit! (Oh yeah, my dump bank's coin machine broke down again)

I found a 1964 Roosie in my CS the other day!! :-) I told my fiancée to look for me if she ever walks by a CS and she found $3+ in change in the top slot?! I though it was funny because I only check the bottom slot and never though to check the top and for her vise versa.

Since this thread gets more posts, I might as well add what I've found in coinstar machines.
-Your average pocket change (usually a single penny or clad dime found in the reject slot or under the machine) -A 2 cent euro -Some foreign coins (one was a penny from the Bahamas)
Haven't found silver yet, but hopefully I will soon

Do you think I'll ever find silver? It seems like everyone but me has found something good. The only silver coins I've legitimately found are 2 dimes from a large water jug one of my relatives has with about $500 in loose change acquired over time; he said I could have any old coins, and that's where I found them along with wheat pennies, oldest being 1919.

I bought a bag of halves from a coin counter yesterday. I found a 1944 Australian penny and a 1962 UK penny! Not worth a lot, but they look nice. The Aussie coin has a kangaroo and George VI, and the UK coin has Britannia and a young Elizabeth II.
