I think so since Family Day is a provincial holiday. Then again, their office is located in our nation's capital. Call and find out.

Thanks again for the welcome,I really appreciate it.I watched this thread a lot while I have been patiently waiting for my coins as well. These will be my first coin purchases other than a sovereign I just purchased while I have waited,in about 35 years (life happened, kids ,farming, etc.). I would like to rephrase my question from page 84 and 85. A lot of people on here were wondering how these coins would grade,so I looked on th pcgs site and it had two different categories of graded coins for the Canadian 5 and 10 $ gold coins ,Base and Gold Reserve. In the 10 $ gold reserve category they are showing 1,600 graded coins already which I find odd as there are lots of people here waiting for their coins. Also these Gold Reserve coins have graded very well if these are the same coins, not sure if they are or not?

How is that possible that PCGS has graded so many 'gold hoard' coins? And those same pop numbers are NOT reflected if you look at the set registry numbers. For example, if you take a look at an individual collection, it will say how many are the same grade, and how many are graded higher. I see for 1914 $10, they have graded 1,086 from the coin hoard, vs 349 for others...these are for MS grades 60+.....and where are these coins?

Received my 1912, 1913, and 1914 $5 HS coins about 3 days ago. I had them shipped to family in Alberta and arrived on Saturday for a visit and to get the coins. I'll do my best to take some decent pics and post them in the next few days. I have to say though, that my initial impression of the coins is that they are fantastic! So glad I bit the bullet on these and got one of each. I'm definitely a happy buyer!

I wonder if the person assisting with the grading received their payment in gold coins? or maybe the home shopping network? Hopefully this number keeps going up and create a nice premium for the original packaged pieces.

Glad someone else has seen this now. While I was researching this a bit more I found a thread on an American site where they had heard a dealer got in there first and because of this a lot of them cancelled their orders .It still doesn't sound right but I sure am buffaloed by what I see. If there is someone here with more experience on these matters and we are reading this wrong let us know.

i just looked at pcgs pop report on the mentioned link on the 10.00 units, the second line with the plus sign is for I think their odd gradeing of some coins ms63+. not coins from this bank of canada lot. I dont think pcgs with their backlog can grade this many coins in 3 weeks plus the RCM just started shipping 2 weeks ago.

click or double click on the number to the left with the plus sign it opens up and should read base and gold reserve with two lines within each category.

See the top of page 13 where the idea that a dealer got in there first was floated. Based on numbers that have been graded already, it's safe to say 'someone' got these coins well before the public.

The earliest that I've noted anyone here report delivery was Jan 18th. Many of us have not received our orders. So how could PCGS have graded thousands of these coin unless some were pulled from the hoard? And who would have access to do that? Obviously, they would pull most of the best coins.

Something stinks to me. Hope I am wrong.

thanks sbr, only one conclusion someone had early dibs and did a good job cherry picking. lots of ms 63 in all years, generally speaking if you dont receive a ms 63 or better, it will become a bullion value plus 100 coin.
