Even I am not that stupid. It was a regular paypal transaction through ebay. If I come out of this without major damage, I will stop even looking at 'too good to be true' deals.

You should be fine. If I were you, if/when the package shows up, I would videotape myself opening it showing the sellers address, the packing slip (if there is one), as well as showing the bar in detail (showing the serial #), so if it turns out to be fake (or if you're mailed an empty box), you can prove it was the bar that you were sent by the seller. If it turns out to be authentic, you made out great.

Who knows, it could have been a listing mistake and the seller meant to make it an auction. People list bullion below spot on ebay all the time, whether it be for a quick sale, lack of knowledge, etc. Usually it's not 1 oz gold bars, but it could end up being a legitimate auction, and you could end up being just fine. Just cover yourself.

With silver down where it is, and needing some half dollar size flips anyway, I could not stand not having one of these in my collection:

What-Did-You-Add-To-Your-Stash-Today?

$30.50 for this government issued round (not a coin, no denomination on it) and the pack of 2x2's

The last time I was there, I asked for a large flip for the CML that I bought. One of the newer guys at the store good naturedley jabbed "Gonna need one of those extra large paper flips for this one?" My reply: "Yes please!"

In the last three weeks, have added two rolls of ASE's (2013 & 2010), roll of AU Walking Liberty halves, and $20 face of 90% Washington quarters.

@auptpdag: The fact that circulating Mexican currency, for a time, had stamped on it not only denominational value, but total mass and PM purity is facinating. I may shamble my interests that way in the future.

I added today 6 American Silver Eagles with one of them being a 1996. I am building a Dancsco ASE Album by year from 1986 until I think 2021 is how high the book goes. In total I spent $210.00. The Silver Eagles were $33.00 a piece and the 1996 was $45.00. I thought it was a great deal!! Love these dropping Silver Prices.. If uncle sugar is good to me and gets me my Refund check back in Time I hope to buy the last 14 I need to feel up the book for everydate up to 2014.

@argentum;
I'm also fascinated with the history of the Mexican silver coinage.
The way they had to change or adjust the silver content
in the better part of the 20th century versus their peso value
I like the coin you put up, I purchased a couple of dozen but
cannot find a square plastic holder for them, I don't think it exist...42mm...

About the $1350 1 oz gold bar, turned to be a scammer after all. Updated fake tracking numbers, used crafty language and all kinds of tricks. I have escalated to ebay and am waiting for them to take a decision. Hopefully I will get my money back soon.

@lincsus---I hope this nasty experience works out OK for you. Between this one and the one in the other thread you just started, your experiences support
the idea of staying away from ebay as strongly as (or more strongly than) any other stories I've heard yet. Good luck with your problem.
