Went to the coin show today and left with 1 oz of gold and my first 10 gram Alaskan gold nugget which tested @ 22k. The dealer himself goes to Alaska and uses a dredge/pan. For such a long time I wanted one piece of raw gold for my collection. I can't stop holding it. .

The nugget looks real nice. What is the premium you paid for the nugget? I am thinking of buying a nugget myself but don't want to pay too much premium.

I bought 5-Early Release and 5-First Release in sequential number, all in NGC MS-70 holders, when I received it, the 5-Early Release first 4 was in sequential numbering but the last one. Not complaining because of price, here's a pic!

what's a difference between "first" release and "early" one?

Two great buys today: - 1881-O Morgan for $25 - Heavily worn Irish ?3? (identified to be a 193?) shilling for 20 cents
I went to the coin shop with my friend and found the shilling in the 5-for-a-dollar Commonwealth bin. I kept it because it looked like silver, and was toned a bit yellow (more than cupronickel anyway). My friend thought it was just a heavily worn nickel shilling, because neither of us knew the Irish silver cutoff date. As soon as we left the store (it's not good etiquette to be smacking bargain coins on the counter!) I hit it on a railing and it rang like a bell. I looked it up and it's about 5 grams of 75%. Always look through world coin bins if you have time!

It's garage sale season, and I found a junk jewelery table at a big community sale. I picked out exactly 12 (came out to 12.00 on my scale) grams of .925 for $3.50 :D
