My local bank had 2 boxes of pennies. Although I was looking for dimes and quarters. Hopefully I can find some boxes at their other branch in the town next to me.

Got another box of pennies (well, 50 rolls but they didnt have a box for it), and a box of quarters and dimes.
So 3 boxes of pennies, 1 box of quarters and 1 box of dimes today.

Is it worth it to keep the commemorative quarters (color, non-color, province, etc)?
I haven't counted everything yet, but I probably have ~$100 worth of commemorative quarters from the box. Don't think i'll go back to the bank I ordered the quarters/dimes from.. Nothing in them other then that, and some US quarters/dimes... and a couple of the quarter rolls were missing 2-4 quarters...
But one of the penny boxes I got at my local bank (haven't checked the 2nd yet) had 1 roll with 5 pennies, and probably $4 of dimes... So that covered up for the missing quarters.
On another note.. After seeing 4 boxes of pennies, and 1 box of nickels, dimes, quarters sitting on my desk... I created a TD account so I can use the coin counter. I can't see myself wasting so much time re-rolling everything.
Can I dump a box of coins into the TD counter at once? Or do I need to do it slowly? How many coins can the counter hold before it's full?

I have dumped 30 000 pennies into a TD coin counter. I wouldn't recommend dumping that much at a time, but the machine can hold a lot.

Provincial quarters are being melted down by the Bank of Canada so I would hang onto them. I hardly ever find them now.

Picked up 60 rolls of pennies today. Older Canadian finds were: 1942, 1943, 1946, 1951, 1956, 1959. Found 3 wheat cents and also a dime, 2 British One Pennies, a 1 Euro cent, and best of all a 1978 penny from Ireland.

I picked up some pennies and a few rolls of quarters that my teller told me looked interesting. They certainly were, all four rolls consisted of 1999 "Monthly" quarters.

hey NICKELPHR33K are you in southern Ontario. I picked up some quarters last week, 10 rolls and 5 of them were solid circulated 1999-2000 quarters.. just wondering.

It was a minus 40 wind chill day so I went to the neighbourhood bank and got 40 rolls of coin and spent a bit of indoor time with my son going through them. Found a few upgrades and one silver quarter.
What was the best was the teller that waited on me. I told him why I wanted the coins and he produced a small bag of 12 silver dimes available for face value. My son and I upgraded a few coins as some were in AU condition. I stopped by later in the afternoon with some cake my wife had made.

@silverwolf: I'm from Ottawa, which technically is considered eastern Ontario, although some would say it is also in the south. Good find on the 1999-2000 quarters though. They are worth keeping as they are being destroyed by the mint. @punman: Nice finds! I haven't found a silver quarter in circulation rolls yet so that is pretty cool. Also $1.20 is silver dimes for face ain't bad either. I have had some luck with silver dimes as well. I think dimes are your best bet for finding in the wild here in Canada.

That is a high number of US pennies in those boxes ! Do you have an idea what the Canadian mint would have done with the American pennies if those boxes would have been sent to them ?

Oddly enough, I find more wheat cents than I do George the VIs. I cringe at how many I miss and end up gobbled up by the ARP.

Searched 1/8 of Mississauga/Brampton/Toronto, found a bank who was grudgingly willing to give their only box of pennies to a 13 year old. Now I know why. Around 700 copper, 300 zinc 400 USD 1942,1949,1944,1943,1959,7x1964, 2x1963,1962,1961,1960 Wheat Cents: 1941,2x1944,1959 UK 1 New Penny 2 Spanish Euros 2 Dutch Euros 5 Portuguese Euros. After calling 10 banks, 1 of them in a residential older neighborhood had 2 boxes available that no one wanted. Headed there tommorow to try my luck
