Hello,

Could someone please help me with this nickel? I am new to this, and hope I am posting in the right place.

I think it's a SF Near Leaf?

I have a lot to learn!

Thank-you for your time.

Its hard to tell from the scan with all the rust on the coin. If I was guessing than you are correct a SF with a near leaf.

Is there any value with this coin? Should I try to clean it?

It is beyond cleaning... those coins consist of chrome-plated steel. Once the rust has formed in the steel, it is pretty much is what you see - not much chance of helping it.

Is there any value, or should I put this one away?

Sorry Lyn. I don't know as much as I would like to know about nickels... but keeping one like this will only add to the clutter as you add more coins to a collection.
