There are a couple of letters on the reverse that appear to be Greek, but I can't even tell what the reverse object is supposed to be. My initial guess was three metae from a stadium, but looking at the blown-up pics I'm now thinking more "prow of ship". I can't tell what/who/which way up the obverse is, either. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

Medieval Pillar of the Community 3772 Posts	Posted 11/13/2014 01:29 am Somehow support your idea that it is a ship. If you turn the picture anticlockwise by 90 degrees, it certainly looks that way. And if I am right the letters above are LE and perhaps an Y behind it,which might point to Leukas. What is the weight and size? Report this Post to the Staff
