Hi all.
It's nice to be back.
Many thanks to everyone who read or answered my last post.
I have now got another unknown coin for you to get your teeth into.
This one is Greek but I have been unable to find anything about it at all. It could do with a bit more cleaning which may reveal more. Not sure.
Anyway, have a look.

While it has a Greek inscription, it is actually a Kushan coin, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushan_coinage
Unfortunately only the top of the tamgha is visible, so it neeeds a closer look into references to determine which of the rulers it belongs to.

Wow.
I would never have found out the details of this coin.
I assumed it was Greek and would have stopped there. I have never heard of Kanishka I or even Kushan.
You can certainly see the 'Tamgha' shown in your supplied link.
One learns something new everyday. I really appreciate the help you have all given me.
Would the coin have some value?
I will have to do a lot more reading, I think.
Keep an eye out for my next unknown coin as I'm sure I can dig out some more.
Cheers.

Pretty common type. If you do an advanced search on "Kanishka I" at Vcoins, I'm sure you'll see many similar - and you'll get a sense of what they're going for.

Definitely Kushan, most likely Kanishka I or II. Here is an excellent refence to all coins from the Eastern empires. http://coinindia.com/
