2 banks yesterday yielded 2 BU 72D Ikes. The teller admitted he was keeping them for himself, but decided to let them go that day. I told him he was welcome to keep them, but he declined. I openly admit tellers always have first choice. It's one of the perks of their job.

I called my bank where I've order some halves from and asked them if they could order me some ikes. They told me that they could order some dollar coins but couldn't specify which coin type. I had them order a $1000 box. Hopefully they will be ikes. Is there any specific bank that I should get to order them or just stop by several and see if they have any on hand? This is my first time looking for dollar coins TIA

to the Community, pan4au! I have a bad feeling that $1000 box will be baby golden dollars. Might still be fun to look through though.

I went to a different branch of my back today and deposited two boxes of halves. I asked but they didn't have any ike's. Hopefully some others in the area will have some.

A couple of banks had Ikes yesterday. First bank had 72 pieces and the second had 10. All 82 clad. One of these days.

I checked one branch of my bank and 2 Credit unions that I belong to. None of them had any ikes. One of the CU told me that one lady there collects them when they get them in.. I'll have to look elsewhere..

This is my first time looking for dollar coins TIA I can guarantee with almost 100% certainty that they will be the usual mix of SBA/Sac/Pres dollars. I work in a bank where I do the cash ordering, and we do not have any way to order them, although I have heard of people doing so both on this forum and elsewhere. Your best bet is to hit up bank/CU branches whenever and wherever convenient and ask if they have any loose.

Stopped by a bank the other day where I usually stop, they had 90 Ikes bought them all, no silver but still going through them. I buy all Ikes when I can find them.

Of 5 banks I stopped at last night, only 1 had Ikes, and only 4 Ikes. Nothing remarkable in them, but I'll keep at it.

Any number of Ikes is a win.
