Congrats on making it back CND - good to see the updates. I have never checked my 1946-D's for the variety. I think I know what I may be doing this weekend...

Looks like some greats finds are turning up! Well in my most recent box I had a few meager finds of my own (no 1950-d though  ): 1942-P and 1943-P (both silver) 1947 Spanish 1 peseta 1939 and 1940-S (oldest two) Only found a single dateless buffalo thus far but am hoping to find more soon. |

whats with pre 1964 nickels? is there a market for 1964 nickels? I have plenty of them

Andrew, it's more pre-1959 nickels. They're more than 50 years old and the nickel is the only series where 50+ year old coins are still regularly found in circulation. As for 1964 - they're the bane of all nickel roll searchers. I think I remember seeing that more Jefferson nickels were made in 1964 than were made in 1938 through 1963 - so in 1964, more than half the Jefferson nickels out there were brand new 1964 ones. |

Grabbed 2 rolls on my way past the bank today. The first roll had both a 2010 P and D, the second roll had a 1981-S proof. I also got a couple hole fillers.

CND I bet you wish you could edit the title. I check now and then. Congrats on the 46 D over Hor D and the 50 D and 45 DDR. I wondered how many of the varieties you have found so far. Have you found a 43 P double eye or 43 P over 2, 55 D/S, 54 S/D, 42 D over Hor D, 49 D over S, 39 DDR? |

hey can you rim search in nickel searching? i;m trying to spice things up--get a change of pace from dimes and i'd like to find some War Nickels. |

You can't rim search search nickels effectively. Everything looks too similar from the edge.

everything looks very very similar however you can usually pull out the War Nickels because their rims are black and grey colored I had a clear brinks box and pulled all the War Nickels out first by looking at the rims you will miss all the pre 59's and any Buffalo nickels seeing how those are all the same dont do it nickels are one of the fastest coins to search they are the perfect size for your fingers to flip |

hmmm. so how many War Nickels do you find on average per box? |

I have never gotten more than 3 War Nickels per box. An average is probably 1 or less. You ain't gonna get rich searching for silver nickels. Edge searching is no guarantee either,too many discolored nickels other than silver. Not all silver ones will be discolored either. |

searched 100.00 in CWR nickels and got: 4 War Nickels (one with a hole drilled in it) 2 1941 1 1940 a bunch of 1950s a bunch of 1960s are any of the older, non-silver ones of any value? should I hold on to them or dump them? |
