Time to play catch-up from reading a couple pages of posts from this thread.

Wheezy, I edit the title to this thread all of the time! I have three updates to post, and that will put me over 19,000 rolls. I will change the thread title to reflect that. Once I hit 25,000 rolls (my goal) I will change it to " Jefferson nickel Bank Roll Searching - Post your Finds Here" as that is what everybody is already doing! And I have been searching for the major varieties all along. I had found a couple of 1955 d/s, but I never made a note of them because of the twelve known reverse dies that have the d/s the three I have found are very minor. I had not found one of the major ones until the 1946 D over Horizontal D that I found a few updates ago. And then to get the 1945 Doubled Die Reverse a few updates later was just pure luck. Of course, I have a total of nine of the 1990d with no Designer's initials, but there is no way of telling if these have any value, as there are no sales records of this variety anywhere I can find.

slash112 - Although most Warnickels can be found by looking at the edge (most of them discolor to a dark olive green color) higher grade ones, which actually do turn up in circulation once in awhile, will have a slight golden hue to them

9090sportscards: "S" mint nickels from 1968-1970 are actually pretty common and not worth saving. S mints from 1954 and earlier are somewhat tougher, with the five toughest to find in circulation being 1938s, 1939s, 1949s, 1951s, and 1946s (toughest to easiest, not including silver nickels). If you find an S mint from 1971 to date, that is a Proof that someone broke out of a set. Not worth anything because once circulated it is damaged, but I would still hold onto it!

oblakavshtanax: I think that Bill (foundinrolls on the Forum) has found a Shield nickel, and I think I heard of someone else that did. I have found over 20 Liberty Heads during this project, but would love to find a Shield!

And someone had asked if I was keeping track of Canadian nickels. That's the biggest regret I have about this project, is that I never did that. I do hold on to all of the Canadian ones dated 1982 and earlier (for their nickel content) and pretty much all of the ones that I have are probably from this project. I currently have 118 of them, the oldest one found being a 1940.

Out of the $200 bag, I found 897 of pre-60 coins. This got to be a record or something!
Mentionables: one wartimers:44p; 2x38p, 55p, 2x49s; I wish there were more wartimers.

Whew. Broke my 5 box silver shutout (finally) with a hole (44-D) no less. Let's hope that losing streak is over. 44 boxes in and only 5 holes left: 38-D, 39-D, 43-S, 44-S and 50-D.

Also pulled out a BU 52-D - it's really a nice coin and I just love finding those older coins that look uncirculated.

I've found several War Nickels, but still no 2009 - been through about $1200 worth.

anyone can tell me what the values of the buffalos are? what are dates and mints I should look for?

Do any of you guys ever get nice toned ones from the boxes? I feel like they're probably picked out.
