through 15 or so rolls of a bank box: so far a 2009D and a 1905 V Liberty nickel and some decent pre-1960s. |

I wonder how many rolls it took before someone found their first Liberty Head. I've probably searched through eight or nine boxes and have yet to find one. Amazingly, a friend of mine got a 1910 Liberty Head in his change not to long ago...

Yeah, I actually just found my 3rd Liberty nickel this morning (1903). This was my 98th box. Strangely I found my 2nd around box 90, then the first at box 20 something. So as nickelsearcher said.....definitely a hard find. |

I get one every 3000 rolls. People seem to be finding them more lately though. It's crazy to find coins that are 100+ years old!

I think a lot of people are rolling up old coins. Nickels are the only coin type still not really changed (in metal content) so many old ones. I've only gone through about 30 or so and found a lot of old nickels, a silver, and a buffalo.

Do you guys get CWR of nickels frequently? I went through my first batch of CWR's ($40 worth) and they yielded less finds than the $60 in bank-wrapped. No buffalo or War Nickels were found in either. Should I keep at CWR or just stick to boxes? |

I'm over 3k rolls, and one V-Nick (1908) to show for it.

I searched through a box of nickels and found: *An almost unrecognizable War Nickel. I had to angle the coin to see a very faint "1945" on the obverse, but I could clearly see the P on the reverse. *34 early Jeffersons (Including my first '38 Jefferson from circulation; I found two, a '38 and a '38-D). |

Nice find on the 38-D. The 39 & 39 branch mint nickels can be tough to find. I have found 38-S, 39-D, & 39-S

It's funny what you can still find after so many years for some of these coins. Don't know if this about typical, but sure was fun sorting and picking through.
