Did a box today that was $46 machine rolled, and $54 customer rolled.
Found 2 silver: 1942P and 1942S.
Found 2 foreign: 1999 Bermuda 5 cents, and 2005 South Africa 5 cents
Found 2 semi-keys: 1946S x2
Also found a pair of 2009. one P and one D.

Sometimes I think the machine rolled have a better chance to old / rare coins. I think some may just go to a coin counting machine and dump and that's it.

I searched through $22 in CWR and $78 in bank-wrapped rolls and they yielded the following: *A '42-S War Nickel (Found in one of the CWR, interestingly enough) *A whopping 36 early Jeffersons in the whole lot I searched; the oldest was a 1938, the third '38 nickel (Buffalo or Jefferson) I've found in the wild. *A 20 Centimes piece from Switzerland and a '99 Canadian 5ยข piece. Thanks For buffalos, it's roughly 1 buffalo for every $300 to $400 searched. Based on other people's finds in this topic, I'd put the Liberty nickel find rate at a very rough estimation of 1 for every $4000 searched. |

I have I guess. I was able to get 2 silver and 6 buffalo 4 with dates and many before 1960. I have a paper cup of all those! I really have more nickels to go through and then will pick the best of each yr. for 2 nickel books to fill up! I guess I've been lucky since I have gone through $254.00 so far. I have also found a 20 swiss currency dated 1967 as well as a UAE coin mentioned a few posts ago that I have no clue what metal they are made of. 3 Canadian and an English coin too!

Stopped by the bank today to pick up some nickels and took the $80 worth that they had with some nice results. 3 silver: 1943P, and 1945P(2). 2 buffalo: 1935 and a dateless 2 foreign: 1994 Canadian and 1980 Bermuda Found a nice 1981 with a nice obverse MAD. (half of date and LIBERTY gone) 4 2009s: 3 D's and 1 P Various common old jeffersons and an AU 1960. I sure have been having good luck with nickels lately. Must be the Irish blood in me.  |

I do not have to guess ... after 241,600 nickels searched I have hard facts as I have been ... uhhhmm .. patient (or OCD as some may say) enough to log all of my nickel searchers in an Excel spreadsheet. Thanks Nickelsearcher for the info. Well I searched a box today and found 1 1943-d silver, 4 1939 nickels and a 1941s. Also found a 2002 D that must have been struck through a lot of grease-the coin seems of little wear but very little of the wording is visible, I can only barely make out "five cents" and "2002 d"  |

Out of 75ยข worth of nickels I acquired today, one of them was a 1982 English 20p coin (first year of issue, too).

Found 2 pennies in the same roll of nickels, a couple coins away from each other too! I mean come on!  |

While picking up my usual box of pennies I asked the teller if she had any other stuff. She gave me $10 in nickels and $40 in quarters. Couldn't believe the results. 62 war nickles, one proof nickle, three proof quarters and bunches of other high quality common dates. Love those customer rolls.
