Yeah! Landed my FIRST Buffalo nickel from a box today - 1936! Also 23 Pre-1960 Jefferson's: 1940 x 3, 1941, 1942, 1946 x 2, 1947, 1947-S, 1949, 1952, 1953-D x 2, 1954, 1955D x 2, 1956-D, 1957-D, 1958-D, 1959-D x 4. Plus, I landed another elusive 2009-D (That makes 3). Still no sign of a 2009-P. Very frustrating for my Whitman!

Wow, I was getting kind of annoyed not finding any silver. On 4 boxes I found 1 corroded 1944-S, and it was getting to me. But now that I read your posts I might go get me a box!

i got a nickel box and it was all 2011 d so I went to get another that I could search. I sell the 2011 boxes on ebay for an easy $40 profit :) but I have 12 War Nickels after 13 1/2 boxes. so that's almost 1 per box.

Believe it murrellington! I've been through as many boxes as you and not a single 2009-P. I think these were hoarded in mass quantities. Luckily, I have been able to land 4 2009-D's.

phil5280: the weird thing though is I have several 2009 d's. you said you have 4... out of the 14 1/2 boxes I did, I have 119 2009 d's. you live in denver, I'm surprised you don't get more. I'm over in san diego, so the p's have a long way to travel. I might get an east coaster to send me a few boxes so I can hopefully pull some p mint jeffersons I still need. would be worth the try.

I've found about 16 Buffalos, and I've been searching boxes for about a year now. I found all of them in this past year. Luckily I can read the date on most of them, but on the ones that are too worn down I just soak in white vinegar and it does the trick. This is what I've found:
1901-P Liberty 1916-P 1917-P(two) 1918-P 1924-P(two) 1927-D(two) 1935-P 1936-P(two) 1937-P 1938-D Three more dateless soaking in white vinegar. So, how does that compare to all of your collections? I'm curious to see your responses.

I did a box today and found the following: *1 War Nickel, a 1945-P *3 Canadians *A 5 Euro cent coin *29 early Jeffersons (Oldest was 1939, but I found a really nice 1940 that's still lustrous and almost has full steps). *My first 2011 Jeffersons from circulation; I found three of them, two P's and one D.
