Got two boxes today. First box was my first skunk box for silver. Found quite a few pre 59s. Also found my first 2 Buffalo nickels roll searching. 1937 and no date Second box was a 2011D box. |

2011 d, nice. my last box was 2011 d. I have it on ebay right now. the bid is at $150 and $12 shipping. So i'll get $162 for the box I paid $100 for. there will be ebay and paypal fees, and I have to ship it, but I will have made a quick easy $30 to $35. |

How remarkable is this? I was looking through a box of nickels today and found my NINETEENTH 1951-s! I know that most people don't even have more than a half dozen of them.

Had a pretty amazing box - 26 Pre-1960's including 1 War Nickel (45-D hole filler) and 1 dateless Buffalo nickel (in vinegar). Rest as follows: 1939, 1940 x 3, 1940D, 1941 x 2, 1941D x 3, 1946, 1946D x2, 1947S x 2, 1952D, 1953D, 1954, 1956D x 3, 1957D, 1958D, 1959D. Also picked up a couple more 2009-D's but no trace of the 2009-P. |

My younger sister helped me with a box today and we finished in about an hour. Only a few pre-1960's that I kept. It was my first box and is a little discouraging but it is way easier on the eyes than pennies.

i'd say thats pretty good DanNickelCollector.
and I did a box today. pretty bad. got like 25 pre 1959. no silver, no buffalo, no hole fillers. I did get a coin from greece though.

so I guess those 2011's are getting well circulated now. in the last box I did, the 2011's started to get more annoying than the 1964's. they were much more prevalent too.

I search a couple boxes of nickels a week, I'll post my finds here. But here's something fun I found last week:  Somebody must have been pretty bummed to find out their little brother had spent their trick coin. |

I read that the mint produced a lot of pennies and nickels during May so that may be the reason for the influx of 2011

yea. I've been flooded with 2011 cents and dimes lately (not so much with the nickels though, only have like 3 or 4)

that is a pretty cool find captainfwiffo. that would be my new pocket piece and I would use it for heads and tails all of the time :) to my advantage of course.

Yeah, mine came from a brinks box. It wasn't a date I was looking for or wanted to examine more closely; I only noticed it because it felt... Wrong somehow. Like it wasn't made out of the right stuff, or the surface was slippery or something. It's clearly made from two real 80s era nickels. It might be a little light (will have to borrow a precise scale).
My dad showed me a quarter like this once when I was a kid, but it wasn't as well done (it was too thin and light, and you could see the seam along the edge, and they didn't bother to orient the faces properly). This one hides the seam in the rim on one side, which is better, although the lettering is cut off a bit, and the rim is a little sharp. But I guess a close examination isn't required to reveal that it's not a fair coin...
