CND,

I don't know anything about the PM feature. How will it show up on my screen?

Yes, true, I found five 1938-D's, but no 1938-S. That seems very unlikely. Equally unlikely that I have not found a 1944-S.

Thanks a lot for the offer Ricardocody! But i'd like to find them all from roll searching on my own. I could easily purchase all of the ones I need, but it is a goal and very fun to try to complete the whole set by myself. Thanks for the wonderful offer though!

That's a lot of rolls. A lot of people on here (me included) are close to completing a set but only a few have done it. Good luck with the last ones left! Have you had any other interesting finds like V nickels, Buffaloes, or errors?

For all of these, fewer than I would have expected. Four Liberty Head ("V") nickels, about twenty or so Buffaloes, many of them dateless or rusted. Errors are particularly scarce, a few small clips, some filled dies, and a blank planchet.

I went through a box today and for the first time in a while, I found no War Nickels. Despite this, I did find my first proof nickel, a 1979-S. I also found four Canadians in the box.

I just read another article on saving nickels for their intrinsic value. That is something worth doing. They have face value of more than five cents. Yes I am aware of the no melting law but that was how it was back when silver ws removed from our coins. Now nickels and pre 1983 pennies are our only true money. Even our other coins are better than paper that has no intrinsic value. Just my thoughts of course. I originally was just going to pick up some to hold on to just n case but ended up finding silver buffalos and just many older coins to put in collector books

Get the dancing fruit ready today's box was awesome. I have 11 holes left to fill and this box filled 3 of them that's right, 3!

results for box 22 1/2:
1935 buffalo
1940 (x3)
1941 (x2)
1941 s
1943 d silver hole filler
1945 p silver hole filler
1948 d (x2)
1951 d
1952 (x2)
1952 d
1953
1954 d (x2)
1955 d
1956
1956 d (x2)
1958 d (x4)
1959
1959 d (x2)
2009 d (x5)
2009 p hole filler

was a very fun box. I can't believe it took this long for a 2009. and I still can't believe I got that elusive 1943 d.

thanks! yeah I went far to a bank I've never been before. I was thinking, if I didn't get up today to roll search, and if I didn't go out of my way to that random bank.... how long would it be until I got that 1943d. odds like this are amazing. there are probably more out there in my area, but I don't go to the right bank at the right time...

Thanks ricardo but I'm trying to do this by roll searching only. If you need any dates though I'd be happy to see what I have.

Ok fellow nickel searchers I'm off to camp and going to save my 1000th post for when I get back, but before I go I just checked my soaking nickels and realized the dateless D mint was a 1913 D type 1! For some reason it didnt occur to me that it was a type one until now, but also there were some scratches the vinegar got rid of. Until next time!
