Thanks! I was pretty happy about it. Its the second one I have found in the last week or so. Would be nice if they were in a little better shape.

Went through a box today and found a badly circulated 2003S, an uncirculated 1959D, and my second 1938S.

Congrats on the 38s,and is always nice to find proofs ; I also found a proof today 1957 that I think is a philadephia issued because there is no S and san francisco didnt make proofs during 1955-1968 ! I ll post a pic when I finish .    Nice steps though Edited by Ricardocody

Box 14: no silver (4th in a row with no silver), no buffs. One hole filler, the 1939-S. Also pulled a 1950 and a nice 1957-D full steps that was a nice upgrade. A total of 33 pre-1960 nickels, which is average for me. No Canadian nickels (a first, especially since I border Canada. Only one foreign coin, a nickel from Bermuda.

I finished searching my first box in a few weeks which seems like forever. It had a nice mix of s mints: 1939s, 1943s, 1947s, 1949s, and 1953s (x2).

I haven't searched a box in about a month but I am a nickel keeper! So they are all keepers just in case. Nickels are better to save than any paper currency!

I don't get it. So many of you guys have no trouble finding the "rare five", which my son and I have a lot of trouble getting, but you do have trouble finding coins like the 1942D, 1951S, 1953S, or 1955P, which my son and I find easily.  |

Ha, that's funny I just got my 51s in a $100 bag tonight. I have had pretty good luck in getting older Jeffersons (38-65s) in bags, nothing rare but some nice finds none the less, with the exception of the War Nickels. Obviously these are hoarded same as the silver quarters, dimes, & halves, but I would thinks they'd be still pretty common (at least no less than a 51-s or 46-s, etc). I know I can pick all of them up on ebay for pretty cheap, but there's not a lot of fun in doing that. How common are silver nickels for you all? |

still missing the big 2...39d, 50d, no surprise. i'd also like to be able to replace a couple wars in my set...I'm probably going to try different banks. I've been hitting my local wells fargo branches...might be time to tap my local Chase
