Second box results from the two boxes picked up today.
First off, WOOHOO! I finally pulled one of the two remaining nickels tonight, a 39d!, also pulled two more wars, 42s, 43s.
The results of box 2 of 2:
39d
40s x2
41 x2
42s
43s
46
46d
47s
48
49
51
52
52s
53s
54
55d
57
57d x2
58d x3
59d x3

27 pre- 1960

After a year and a half, I finally pulled the 39d, leaving just one nickel left, 1950d. Feels good to finally be able to check one off after so long.

thanks. filling a hole after such a long time is like finally taking a deep breath after realizing you'd been holding it for a while. time to dump $300 in nickels and get another box or two...

Now you're ready to roll I see. Too bad the 50 d is such a hard one to find. I'm jealous of those who knock that coin out early on in their searching.

I picked up a box of nickels after about a month off
I have a bank teller who will help me out again!
Anyways first box of nickels from her showed no silver, no buffalos and no hole fillers
Still sitting at 5 holes for jeffersons
On another note I purchased the Liberty nickels dansco album which in my opinion is pretty cool. Since there aren't many coins in that series there is one page that has the dates on it for the whole set, and then another page completely blank.
My idea is to put together the cheapest set possible of Liberty nickels on the blank page and then get a much nicer set for the first page.
I am obviously going to leave out the big 3 from my sets, but I am really excited about the cheapest set possible idea. I got the idea kind of from captainwiffos cheap buffalo set.
I now have 3 dansco albums started for 3 different nickel series!
Very fun

So found a box of nickels in the coin storage area of our bank. It was a Brinks box, which is odd as we never order nickels. So I figured it had been there a while. The newest nickel in the box was from 1996 so I figure it's been there about 15 years! Not a bad haul, but not the visions of buffalo & V nickels I had. I had to tell myself later, "ok it was from '96 not '56"

44P
45S
51S

All hole fillers, so not a bad day.

1952 d
1953
1953 d (x2)
1954 d (x2)

I'll tell ya, it sure was nerve racking flipping over the 38, 50, and 55. I need the 38 d, 50 d, and 55 p. So every time I find these dates it is a rush to flip them over. I'll get them one day.
