These are really remarkable results.

I used to look at a lot of these back in the early '70's and saw most of these in about the same proportions. There were a lot fewer foreign coins and a few more War Nickels. I'm most surprised by how few of the '51-S's you found. It's also a little surprising you've found so many '38's.

Interesting you mention the 51s - just added another one in the above post; now have found 2! And I am also surprised by the number of 1938's, but I haven't found any for a few weeks now. I have one more update to post.

It's from Thailand. ...Quite modern and probably common.

Thanks for the answer; I'll research to find out the name of their basic denomination, because the coin is probably some multiple of that. Might be modern and common, but found in a roll of nickels in America's heartland; it's very unusual!

looked through $160 worth and found 4 wartime, one 1939s and a 1958 five centisimo from mexico. nothin much else of note as of late
seven to go= (1938d,1938s,1939d,1943d,1944d,1950d,2008p)

Thailand coins are a special headache..

I think it's a 2547 (aka 2004) 1 Baht. Might want to get a second confirmation from someone more knowledgable than me.
