They are not valuable, but in some areas, they are hard to find due to their mintage.

Yeah I've managed to get maybe two or three of them, and they have a lower mintage than the 1950p, which is a coin I've yet to find. Oh yeah, and today I got a 1940s and a 1918 Buffalo!  |

I found this site a couple weeks ago when I found a 1937 Buffalo in my change. I got my first box this week and here are my results. I was stoked that I found a silver. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the rolls, but the teller made me feel wierd buying the box and I am not sure how I am going to dump yet. Once I get that figured out I think I will enjoy this hobby. I also got two boxes of pennies, but they turned out to be new so I will have to try and get some more boxes soon. One question: I saw on one of the guides that the 1982s are worth more than a nickel but they are everywhere, are they worth saving?

1982? you must be talking about pennies. pennies made before 1982 are worth about 2 cents of copper, so many people hoard them. google that.

Box 33: A pristine 1974-S proof (and my 4th proof ever). Other than that, well, I found a 42-D & 46-S. Fewest keepers ever.

One box yielded: A 1943-P War Nickel, two Buffalos (1935-D and 1936), four Canadians, and several older Jeffersons, with the oldest being a 1938. |

Murrellington - what are your 5 holes?
Silverroosevelt: better than my average box! 33 boxes and only once did I find 2 buffalos in a single box.

Not much of interest in my last $250 of nickels. Just one silver (1945D), a 1985P that looks like it came out of a mint set, and a bunch of pre-'60 dates that I don't care about.
Still looking for the '38-D, and '50-D. (I'm on a 20+ box dry streak for 1938 nickels from any mint)

My personal best is three Buffalos. In that hunt, they were a '17-S, '25, and '34, I also found four War Nickels (including a nicely toned, full-step '43-D) in the same box, too. I usually find one Buffalo per box (although when I found a '17 on my hunt before this one, it was my first Buffalo in months). |

Box 34: one dateless buffalo, and my 2nd 1950 (P). This 1950 is in rough shape - glad I found the AU one last box.

I don't know if any of you guys saw my results from the other thread, but I had a big day! One silver, a 1955, 1938 D, and a 1939 S!  One less hole to fill.  |
