Latest box was 3 War Nickels: 45p x2 and 43p. The last two boxes also yielded a 1920 buffalo in fine condition and a 1933 in about good condition.  |

You guys, I'm having a hard time with some older nickels I found that I think are proofs. 5 of the 7 have full steps and look like proofs, so I'm pretty sure they are. another 1 of the 7 I decided was just a good strike and not proof. The last one is a 1969 s nickel that looks kind of like a proof, but then it does not have full steps like the other proofs I found. Could they have just been worn down from circulation? the rest of the coin is superb. I wish there was a defining characteristic between business strike and proof nickels :/

Im sorry, but I LIKE his stuff. I didnt realize he did a 33 nickel.
Murrellington I did that on purpose. LOL As soon as she said she found a 44 but there was no MM I was like NO WAY! As soon as she handed it to me I was cackling.
So she finds a 38D Walker searching halves and now a 44 Henning. What next?

smokeriderdon- When that happens, you need to just let her keep searching for you. My wife gets silver in dimes, and when I do 3 boxes while she is at work I get all skunks. I'll be happy to let my wife search for me :)

Last night's box yielded two 1943P silver nickels, two upgrades, and a 2011 Canadian for my son's Canadian collection.

I have been doing boxes of half's and dimes but decided to pick up a box of nickels today from the small branch near my house. The box turned out to be pretty good, I think. Box #1 2 x 1960D 1 x 1958D 3 x 1957D 1 x 1957 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1956D 1 x 1956 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1955D 4 x 1954D 1 x 1954 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1953D 1 x 1953 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1951D 2 x 1946D 1 x 1946 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1942 ( no mint mark) 2 x 1941 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1941D 1 x 1949D 1 x 1940 ( no mint mark) 1 x 1939 ( no mint mark) 1 x Buffalo nickel (no date) Think I will give the half's and dimes a little time off and focus more on the nickels. bbradford71 - More fun than halves isn't it! Looks like you got a pretty average box there. About 70% of the time, I get either a buffalo (usually dateless) or a silver War Nickel. |
