I know that one of anything doesn't make a pattern, but I just went through my first Brinks box earlier this week and it was pretty abysmal. 18 pre-60, one Buffalo. I suppose I'll see if this doesn't happen with my next few Brinks boxes...if it does, then it's back to requesting customer-wrapped rolls again, even if it means getting fewer rolls at a time.

You are tearing it up _22_ ....... I would enjoy seeing a nice summary of your finds thru 1000 rolls.

Give us as much detail as you can.

Thanks

CND and XoG,
Sorry I never replied to your questions form the previous page. I was out of town over the weekend and just now realized I hadn't read your comments. As for the 1913D Buffalo it is a type-I but I will still happily take it. And the V nickels I would grade at about G-3, they are not in the best condition and heavily worn, but like the Buffalo, I'll take 'em any day! Again I apologize for the delay in my reply.

nickelsearcher, I will get those numbers up for you hopefully tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then no later than this weekend.

Great stuff, _22_!

You have found a large number of Buffalos; I am at 43 through 10,900 rolls, so your total is impressive! Keep up the good work!

Here is another update; a pretty boring one with one INCREDIBLY notable exception!

100 rolls
44 pre-1959

BREAKDOWN:

Buffalo(dateless),1938,1939(HENNING NICKEL),1940,(4)1941,(6)1946,(3)1947,1947s,1948,(3)1949,1951,1952,1953,1953d,1954d,1954s,(2)1956,1956d,1957,(5)1957d,1958,(6)1958d

44 Buffalo nickels ((13)dateless,1918,1919,(3)1920,1920d,1924,(4)1927,1928,1928s,(3)1929,1929s,(4)1935,(6)1936,1936d,(2)1937,1938d)

Yeah keep on searching for the other Hennings! I think it might be possible to get one for myself if I looked at every circulated 1939 on ebay that has a reverse image, or took a chance on circulated solid 39 rolls. I don't think I'll ever find one in change. With my old eyes though, I still can spot an older nickel at arms length in change making.

I'm back from a 5 day trip ..... catching up ....

Thanks _22_ for posting your find data ..... you are on a roll amigo (pun intended). I'll do the math later ..... but for sure you are way ahead of me on both overall find rates and rates for 'special coins'

Thanks as well to you CND for continuing to post your finds .... and congratulations again on the 1939 Henning.

Best

David

Just pulled a 1942 D in vf condition. Only need 5 more to complete my set38S,39D,39S,43D and 44S. I know the final victory is still far away but each one that gets you closer is a small victory that keeps you going. All that I have in my set are from circulation since February 2009. I've really done well when you look at the timeframe!

Nickelsearcher, what 7 holes do you still have to fill? I have a sneaking hunch I could name you at least 3 of them but I am always curious when several of us are getting close to completion just who needs what.

Nice find on the Henning! Love this thread, been reading it for days. Nickels are my favorite to search. Find a few wars and occasional buffalo but your totals are amazing. Keep up the good work!
