I bought a box today (was only going to get 10 rolls but the teller fussed about having to open the box. No V's or Buffalos. Only noteables were 43P, 51S, and a very nice but very dark 1955 (which I needed for my second set). Now all I need for my second set is 1939S.

"XofG, I get my boxes from Brinks also and, honestly, have much better luck with silver from customer wrapped rolls. I get a lot of pre-60's stuff from Brinks but little if any silver."

My theory on why Brinks has less silver than other carriers is that most coin machines (used by searchers for dumping) around where I am at are serviced by Brinks. Hence, most dumps of coins are going straight to Brinks which is watering down the amount of silver in their rolls.

Just my 2 cents worth...

CND, I just get my boxes from my local bank... for some reason they have been "hot" for awhile now. I'm up to 50 Buffalos and 11 V Nickles all from 5 boxes.

Congrats on your most recent 100 rolls, you found 3 that I've yet to find 1939D, 1946S, and 1955. Great Job!

XoG,

I would love to put some pics up on here so you and others could help me grade them... I'm not very good at telling them myself. However, my camera doesn't take very good close up pictures and I don't own a scanner, but maybe I can look into getting one. Then I can post both of my 1888 (I pulled my second out of another box this morning) and one of the 1899 from the last box looks to be AU so I'll see what I can do in order to get those up.

seriously, pullling numbers like that id take like a thousand bucks and go wild on that bank. With stuff like that theirs not only fun to be had but money to be made. Your definatley hitting dumped collections with finds like that, not your adveradge cache of grandmas change mind you.

I went through 2 boxes and found 40 pre 1959 in one box and 15 pre 1958 in the second. Of the 40 in the first there was 1 1943s and a 1936 buffalo. In the second there was a higher grade 1945p which looks prooflike ill post pictures later in a seperate thread. I also found a 1995 Cud (major die break) in the first box. Thats the first one for me this year. In the first box I found one canadian nickel and in the second I found two canadians and a 1997 bermudan fish nickel.

22, there are only two ways I get boxes like that. One, I'm dreaming. The other, I'm dreaming. Wow!

Here's a nice little one my little Joey and I got last week. Yup, came with a little bonus: that's a faint, little die crack running through the PLURIBUS S.
