carloscoria,

I would have looked through that box again to get that 1950d back!

I keep all 1950 dated coins, p or d, since both are low mintage. How did you accidentally let it go back?

I seen the coin I put it away with my early and late 40's. Then about a week after I decided to release my 40s back into the wild and there went the 50d. Did not realize till I came back home when I dumped them.

It happens Carlos - I'm sure I tossed back a variety coin here and there because I didn't know what I had. I've stumbled onto more information about a coin, usually months later, only to shake my head. The subject coin might appear different, but not enough for me to set it aside. I don't make that mistake anymore. Suspect specimens get tossed into a pill bottle for further examination before releasing.

We returned our extra 1938p's to the wild a few weeks ago. Fortunately they were in a folder by themselves.

Did a quick 10 room search today. Didn't get any hole fillers but got a silver 1945 S out of it so I'm not complaining :) :) :)

skibdib,

Sorry I missed your post earlier. None of my dumped 1938p's were in AU condition. They were all pretty well worn. We kept the best 8 for ourselves.

Rackster - thnx for asking. I only took pics of the proof. Seems like minor MAD, possibly "finning".
