Looks like the rim did it's job, protecting major design elements Road rash.

It got beat up and zinc rot set in. The possible exception might be a die chip at the west end of the memorial.

Hi domys.I have a 1989 Doubled Die (Ear).It shows one of the strangest Reverses I have ever seen.Take your Reverse and ramp it up 90% more and you will have my Reverse.I will post pictures soon.

I would tossed this coin before I wasted my time on it. If a coin looks bad, I toss it into the rolls ASAP. Dark, spotted or split plating, go away fast for me.
