I bought it for 20 dollars (no tax, no shipping and handling) at a coin shop. That's only about 5 dollars more than the scrap silver price of a Peace dollar so I didn't really lose anything. When I bought it it was graded MS60. According to pcgs the price difference between a F and AU is 5 dollars, doesn't really maka difference anyway, the real difference is if it was MS60/61/62 but I guess that's too high. KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 02/10/2008 5:10 pm I can't tell enough to even guess a grade from the pics, but yeah--a MS Morgan/Peace $1 coin shouldn't have any wear except for bag marks common to the old dollars. It sort of irks me when dealers overgrade coins, although I'll say the coins I buy from Canada are typically more honestly graded. The worst offenders I've seen are with popular American coins such as the Morgan and Peace dollars, as well as Indian Cents--people simply make up any grade for a nicer margin. The biggest reason why I can't tell if it's MS or not is because I can't tell if the coin has wear or is just dirty. The surface of eagle side doesn't have any wear the other side might I'm not sure. the lustre/surface preservation looks like an AU at least. I just started collecting US silver dollars but I've learned that US coin grading seems to be more leniant than Canadian coin grading.
