Bought this note from a local coin shop. Bought it cheap becuase the guy had piles of different notes. This one was so obscure he didn't know what it was worth. I saw one on heritage go for $500 in worse condition. That was the only listing I could find. One negative point is at one point this thing was pasted in a album so there is residue on the backside from the pasting. What do you guys think?

Nice looking note Brian.

I love any note with a train. It has bold signatures and really nice vignettes. A much rarer example than the Memphis $10 with the Eagle vignette. The other $5 sold last year for $399.50 and was from the Eric P. Newman collection, so it had some added provenance. Probably a sub $500 note because of the glue residue.

That is a nice looking note. I can't really help with value as I mainly collect North Carolina obsolete notes.

I just sent a few NC "train" notes off to PMG to be graded.

Can't help with the value, but I love the train - just like those used on the "Hell on Wheels" series, one of my favorite shows.

Just posted it on ebay for $600 or best offer. Got two watchers already.
