I Am Needing Help With These Two Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC , Do Both Initials Have A Serif?

Lelah Valued Member United States 196 Posts	Posted 06/04/2017 11:15 pm Thank you for reading first off. I have 2 1992 D LMC. I am seeing two different initials here. Is there a possibility of Die Deterioration with one that makes the am split. Please help if you can thank you. The top pic with the magnifying glass is the one I am questioning. If yours is a 1992 then having serifs on the G is normal. If you found a 1992 Close AM cent (rare), it should not have serifs. Here's a closer look by member Thulium ( Wide AM on top, Close AM on bottom): It is certainly plausible that Die Deterioration and/or wear will make a G with serifs appear more like sans serif, especially on such a small device. That's why other markers need to be used in conjunction.
