Just found this 2005 Minnesota Washington quarter in my car coin tray. I thought it was a token at first.
What kind of error is this?
The obverse is very very smooth.

I don't know much about quarters so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's a funky looking obverse! What would cause this? Almost looks like metal issue.

Weird. PMD I think, but a heavily Deteriorated Die can also look somewhat like this.
