I'm new here, but have learned a small amount about these coins, I'm just eager to learn. the minute, and sheer number of differences are very difficult for me to see without any kind of magnifying glass or microscope, if any or all of you could help identify the die numbers, or varieties of the coins below I would be extremely grateful. Being I'm short on time, I'll be back. But here's the 1858.

I catalogued this die pair as OB4/RC7. It coined about 4% of the 1858 mintage.

Your first 1859 pictured is a Haxby # PC59-65a5 (Obverse 65a + Reverse P4b).

You can see the 3 obverse die cracks that identify it as 65a, and the reverse die crack at leaf 13 that identifies P4b.

gidjit is right. There are a lot of pictures. It would help if you number the coins before each pair of photos, like coin #1, coin #2 etc. A lot of your pictures have out of focus areas that make it hard for us to attribute the coins.

Have you tried going to Dr. Haxby's website of 1859's to try and attribute them yourself? You will learn a lot in the attempt as you compare your coins to the photos on the website. Here is the link www.vickycents.com

Compare your coins to these Haxby catalog numbers and see if they match.

Coin #2 - 751
Coin #5 - 45a2
Coin #6 - 423
Coin #8 - 491

Need clearer photos for coins # 3,4,7,and 9.
