Update: I've posted a new pic at the end of this page.
I don't usually buy coins off ebay, but I made an exception for this one. Here's an auction pic of the reverse; I'll post better pics when it arrives.

Is the 528,000 mintage Krause gives accurate? I sure like those low mintages!

That mintage certainly is correct. Good pick up! A key Aussie coin.

Ty, sure thing...I'll take a hard look! However, if they doctored it, I doubt they'd let it go for $4.

The coin arrived today, and it looks to be a real 42-M 3d
One thing I notice is the portrait is pretty mushy compared to the legend--worn die perhaps?
It's hard for me to pin down a grade on this, but I think VG is a safe bet.

If you wish to compare 'good scores', picked up a 1923 threepence for 70c this week... :) Somewhere in between F-VF.

The 1942 shown here, is one of the Few threepence is need to complete my George VI/Elizabeth II threepence collection. Starting on George V and sixpence ...
