2018-D Lincoln Shield Cent / LSC : Die Deterioration?

spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 06/04/2018 11:18 pm I received two 2018-D Shield cents in change the other day and one of them stood out to me. The area around VDB and the lower bust in general is off in a way I have not quite seen before. I believe it is Die Deterioration, but it just looks weird to me. Let me know what you think! The weird one: The other "normal" one I got for comparison: Closeups: I'm sure it's nothing noteworthy, but I haven't seen this sort of isolated major deterioration. So it could be machine doubled by die movement: Or like his coin that had die polishing altering the shape of those devices.
