Anyone else see how the numbers 43 seem to pop out from the 19 - they seem to be lifted a bit more and as a result have collected more dirt/grime. Is this an error?

Nope, not an error. That's circulation wear and flattening that has caused the the 2 numbers "43" to look like that. It's Post Strike Damage (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). You still have a nice War Nickel though that's definitely worth keeping.

The numbers 4 and 3 have gathered more circulation gunk around them that highlights the numbers when viewing. They are not abnormal, otherwise.

Not unusual, but fair question.
