Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 75782 Posts	Posted 11/13/2018 2:09 pm This came from an old collection of stuff that was passed down to my dad. I was also wondering if this is a genuine Coronet Head Cent? Also, is there any varieties for this year for doubled lips? If anyone can give me information, that would be great, as I don't know jack about Classic coins. The weight is 10.4 grams. I am not very smart in this area. Errers and Varietys. SilverDollar2017 Pillar of the Community United States 8715 Posts	Posted 11/13/2018 5:14 pm The doubling is caused by the worn out screw presses used to strike these. The parts started becoming loose. When tightened they'd loosen again. Report this Post to the Staff

Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 11/14/2018 2:16 pm As mentioned the doubled lips are not a variety its the screw press version of Machine Doubling damage. The varity is N-2 on the the two small 8 varieties and it is an R-1 very common. Report this Post to the Staff
