There's a lot of crud built up around the 8, and I do not know what to do about that if there is anything I can do without ruining the coin. I had a hard time with the pictures, it was easier to see with my loop. Let me know your thoughts.

However, if you still want to get rid of that crud on the date, you can soak the coin in acetone. After soaking it for a bit, quickly rinse it in the sink.
