Not sure that I have 10% as many coins of medieval Hungary as @eddiediz, but about half of mine have Mary on them and I still have couple dozen to post covering five different Centuries. As quiet as we were last week, this one could be pretty crazy with submissions.

Well, if we can get a few nice ones from Hungary, that's a good start. I expect we'll see some from other CCF members, too. Looking forward to seeing your others! Meantime I will post this one-sided, undated pfennig (ca. 1500) from Hessen showing St. Elizabeth of Thuringia  Edited by tdziemia

I am guessing that is tongue-in-cheek  But since you mention it, when we get to the letter R, I will post a medieval coin with St. Gaudens (the saint, not the sculptor/engraver) on it (as it turns out, there were at least three saints with this obscure name). And if Saint-Gaudens did a coin or medal with a saint on it, that would be pretty neat! |

Here is a Follis from 12th Century Hungary with an image of Mary (SANCTA MARIA) on the rev. Perhaps my oldest contribution to this thread?   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Nice depictions of Mary spanning 5 centuries in those last two posts! I will mix it up a bit on Hungary with the image of St. John the Baptist on this florin from the reign of Louis I, with a date range 1342-1353   |

 Though compared to @pepactonius 16th c., that child looks to be in serious distress. That earlier Hungarian coin was very interesting, almost Byzantine. Here is another coin of Goslar, a Matthiasgroschen dating to the 1470s (sorry for bad photos)   |

St. Gotthard appears on a medieval coin of Hidesheim, but also on this notgeld coin of Gotha. European colleagues might recognize this saint as the one for whom the Gotthardpass / Passo del San Gottardo in southern Switzerland is named.   |
