Limoscott New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 03/28/2020 2:16 pm What causes this damage I see on many Kennedy halves. I have seen and read about Mechanical Doubling but this coin appears to have a larger stamped date showing under the date. this is especialy evident in the circular parts of the numbers on the 6 and 9. I thought Mechanical Doubling generally shows on one side. What am I mis-understanding? Report this Post to the Staff

T-BOP Rest in Peace United States 18456 Posts	Posted 03/28/2020 5:33 pm I don't see what your talking about larger numbers struck under the date or Mechanical Doubling . But I agree those marks on head is from the reeds of another Half Dollar striking your coin . Report this Post to the Staff
Limoscott New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 03/28/2020 9:01 pm Here is the date next to a normal date. all sides each number seem spread out like it was a date stamped on top of another date. The seven looks like Mechanical Doubling but the center of the six and nine cause me to think it is something else. This is another coin I'm not sure if it is Mechanical Doubling.
