I'm new here but my collecting days go way back to 1968 when a nice gentleman started a coin club for us kids at the Chicago Boys club. He brought us rolls of pennies and Whitman folders and man was I hooked. In those days there were a bunch of wheat backs still circulating as well as silver coinage. I collected until my teens when I discovered girls and lost interest in coins. Unfortunately I didn't regain interest until around 2004-5ish when I was buying bullion (it was pretty cheap then) and bought some graded generic $20 liberty's. I was hooked again. I loved gold coins so decided to start a New Orleans gold type set, still unfinished. Then went on to complete a Franklin half proof set and a Washington quarter proof set. Still plodding my thru a 7070 US type set but now my new interest is in Half Cents and large cents. I'm working on a braided hair Half Cent set atm.
