Hi, I think this is a Mint error on the Lincoln Memorial, there is also an inclusion " Cud" giving the impression of a person "ghostly" on top of the Lincoln Memorial. Any opinions would be appreciated, Thanks

cmaracing to CCF. To me it looks like the coin took a hit after rolling away from the mint LOL Can you get some closer Pictures Please so we can have a better look, I could be wrong.

@cma, it is possible that this coin was struck through a bit of grease which caused this area to not be struck fully, but I agree with @de that it looks more like damage.

Keep the best coins, spend the rest. A most of incuse marks on coins are Machine Doubling. only 1% are mint errors. Rest, damaged. They take a beating and sometimes it is intentional.
