Finally got something decent in the till this morning. Sitting on top of all the shiny newer quarters was this silver one. I checked and it's the high relief variety. Glad none of the other staff are into coin collecting.

Nice find, ikandiggit, you don't get an older one in that nice shape very often.

With a few dings or so, It's at least VF

Nice find! I keep looking for the '51 LR--optimist that I am.
Course, not in circulation here in the US.

Regardless of condition this is a great find. This coin would have its own 2x2 slot for sure. Its not just about quality sometimes but how you found it.
Does it have a die break at the very bottom of the kings neck to the beads?

No, there's no die break, just some discolouration.

In the 2009 north american coin guide It does not list these two varieties. Is the 51 year rarer in HR or LR, The one I have is A to dent. hopefully thats the rare one, But because I have that one I'm sure with my luck its the A between.

Unfortunately with the 1951, it's the low relief (LR- "A" points between the denticles) that's the rare one. $200 VF-20.
