Hi guys came across this 1974 Washington quarter in pocket change today with a Reverse Die Crack.

Die cracks are die events. Once they happen, they can get worse until the die is retired. A big find to a new collector, an uneventful find for a seasoned collector. (They know they happen and are common) Most often they look at these as the events of die making/breaking to create coins.

@Coop Exactly. When you're new a this and trying to understand, DD, DDD, MD, Die Cracks and many more. Most get excited to find anything legitimate Like a DD versus DDD or a Die Crack verse a scratch or damage. It's a learning process for sure but fun! And it's great help that you and other's are giving Newbies and your website and other's like Wexler's and PCGS are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks Alot!
